2017 is the beginning of a new cycle relationship… The SFSuper Series has chosen a new Series event that we are sure you are going to love. In fact the name alone – Gears and Beers – has motivated us to travel south to partner with the Rotary Club of Wollundry in Wagga Wagga.
We are SUPER excited to head down to Wagga Wagga and ride those undulating hills! This is a SUPER Series event for the entire family, first-time riders, and the SUPER experienced, taking you to Wagga for a cycling challenge and Craft Beer and Cider Festival over the long weekend in October. Why not make a weekend of it and bring your mates or family along.
DON'T register on the Gears and Beers website....
To be part of the SFSuper Series team, you need to register on the SFSuper Series website HERE first to ensure access to team news, training programs and all the other good stuff.
However, go and check out all the race and event info on the Gears and Beers site here
This race is particularly perfect for our Series, as it offers six different distance options for our participants. There are four courses for our road bikes and two for our off-road lovers. You can be a first time rider or a SUPER experienced rider and be challenged on this course.
For the Cycle, we encourage people to train and ride in teams. It’s a more fun, social and safer way to ride.
For the Race weekend agenda- cycle.pdf click here.
The six ride options include:
9km Short Course ($20)
30km Short Course ($40)
50km Course ($50)
105km Long Course ($80)
The Filthy 50 - 50km Course Mostly Un-sealed Roads ($60)
The Rapha Dirty 130 Partnered by Rapha – 130km Course Sealed and un-sealed Roads ($100).
There are limited spots in this event, so sign up soon to avoid disappointment.
One of the best things about this event is that the Gears and Beers cycle challenge finishes with a Craft Beer & Cider Festival, combining a range of hand-crafted beers and ciders and live entertainment with and great local food. Check out this year's line-up of brewers and musical acts!
Entry to the event is $10.00 and open to the public. Riders participating in the cycle challenge arrive at a similar time so there will be a party-like atmosphere as the riders join the festival at the finish line!
What you get with us?
When you sign up for the SFSuper Series your entry fee is the same as it would be if you signed up directly for the Gears and Beers, however we will include:
- All the inclusions that all other entrants receive when signing up for the Gears and Beers event. Check out the Rider Packs
- A pre-training and 12-week training schedule written especially for the distance you have chosen by our specialist coaches
- Access to training groups (this is dependent on your location, but we will endeavour to find you a trainer and a group)
- Regular team updates with training and fundraising tips and videos
- A cyclist's kit including a training jersey, drink bottle and other surprises
- A great supporter group cheering you on through the event
- Prize incentives for fundraising targets reached including an automatic entry into a Fijian holiday prize for every $100 you raise
- All the camaraderie and support of the SFSuper Series team including a launch event, pre and post race dinners
- If you fundraise in excess of $1000, we will reimburse the cost of your race entry.
What we ask from you:
More than anything we ask you to bring your friends, train with us and have fun!
We also ask all our participants to commit to setting up a fundraising page (as part of your registration) and raising a minimum $700 each. This may sound like a lot of money, but you are not on your own. We will help you with fundraising ideas and tips.
We’ll even make it more enjoyable for you – for every $100 you make, we will put your name into a draw to win a holiday to Fiji! And if you get to $1000 in your fundraising endeavours, we’ll cover your race fee.
Organising accommodation is up to each individual participant, and we are currently negotiating a discounted rate at one of the accommodation hubs, however there are many options in Wagga Wagga and surrounds at many different price points. But start looking NOW as it's a long weekend. More information to come.
If you are coming by yourself then make sure you note this on your registration form or contact us at email@example.com and we will try and team you up with some other Series participants so you are with the SFSuper Series gang!
Transfers and Transport:
Depending on final numbers and where our cyclists are coming from, we will assist in organising transfers to and from Sydney. These will be additional expenses. Make sure you let us know if you are interested on your registration form or contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
